In February 2020, while the world was still in turbulence due to the emerging COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine caused many businesses to struggle and even shut down, GốcCreation team came up with an idea about an art exhibition taking place simultaneously in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang to take care of the well-being of intellectual community in times of crisis.
'Ruc Ra Ruc Dich' marked the first time a pop-up exhibition series had been organized and circulated among cities and different art spaces, so that audiences could follow the whole exhibition without traveling. And for the first time, there was an exhibition revolving around the COVID-19 pandemic.
The exhibition gathered around 70 artworks across nearly 10 art forms, contributed by more than 40 artists based in Vietnam and other countries, including some respected figures such as Uu Dam Tran Nguyen, Nguyen Van Du, Ha Huy Muoi and also aspiring ones such as Alectruha, Ngo Ky Duyen and Pham Anh Ngoc,...and many more art enthusiasts.
From May to August 2020, 'Ruc Ra Ruc Dich' attracted thousands of visitors. The project was named the most socially impactful art programs of the year by Hanoi Grapevine's Finest 2020.
